Tim Bryan

Tim Bryan is Director of the Brunel Institute at the SS Great Britain Trust and a Trustee of the RNLI Heritage Trust. He is moved by things that move:  his previous roles included Head of Collections at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire and Manager at STEAM, the Museum of the GWR in Swindon. Tim was awarded the Fellowship of the Museums Association in 2016 and for ten years he has chaired the Association of British Transport & Engineering Museums a heritage network that published ‘Guidelines for the Care of Larger and Working Historic Objects’ in 2018. He lives in Swindon and has written twenty books on railway and heritage subjects including a biography of Brunel; his most recent 'Railway Carriages' was published by Shire in 2019.
