Dr Simon Hancock

Dr Simon Hancock was born in Neyland and his family has a long-standing association with the Milford Haven waterway. An author and keen local historian by interest and by profession, he is curator of Haverfordwest museum, chair of the Pembrokeshire Historical Society and in 2015 obtained a Ph.D. from Cardiff University for his thesis on Pembrokeshire in the first world war. Simon is involved in local charities including Torch Theatre and Neyland Heritage. He has held many other public offices including serving on Neyland Town Council since 1987, as a magistrate, and as chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council 2019-2020.
